Our Jr. Warriors Program is Comprised of Three Primary Disciplines.

We begin with yoga to stretch and awaken the body, promoting relaxation and mental focus. Next, we transition to chess, which sharpens strategic thinking, enhances problem-solving abilities, and fosters overall cognitive development. Finally, we conclude with martial arts, which not only strengthen the body but also empower individuals with confidence and valuable self-defense skills. All presented in a fun but structured age-appropriate manner. We also include free time for play and socialization.

Ages 6-10

** we will occasionally swap in music, art, beach walks, guest teachers, etc as a way of breaking up the routine and adding even more balance to the overall program.

Martial Arts

  • Our martial arts program offers students an age-appropriate comprehensive system that includes grappling and striking techniques. Learning both provides the most well-rounded foundation for self-defense. We keep it fun, but offer a very healthy level of challenge, encouraging students to reach and achieve outside their comfort zones. Classes are structured.

    Through martial arts training, students develop physical strength, coordination, flexibility, agility and more, while also learning the importance of self-control, discipline, respect, and accountability. Training builds focus and confidence as students learn techniques and overcome challenges, helping them build resilience and self-assurance. 

    Our Martial Arts program is designed not only to enhance physical skills but also to instill valuable life lessons, fostering character, discipline, and a strong sense of inner strength that students carry with them beyond the mat.

    We teach a mix of martial arts styles but are rooted primarily in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing. Our goal for function is practical self-defense and to build an overall athletic foundation..

Chess

  • Our program offers students a fun and supportive environment to learn the timeless game of chess. Classes are designed to engage kids in a way that helps them build critical thinking, patience, and strategic skills.

    Learning chess provides numerous benefits for young learners. Studies have shown that playing chess enhances focus, memory, strategic-thinking, problem-solving abilities and more. And, that there’s a direct correlation between playing chess and overall academic success. 

    By engaging in thoughtful gameplay, students develop a growth mindset that encourages perseverance in the face of challenges. Through interactive lessons and coordinated drills, students deepen their understanding of the game while learning the value of planning multiple steps ahead.

Yoga

  • Our yoga practice starts with a focus on breath awareness and being in the present. We lead kids through a series of poses and stretches that are ashtanga and hatha inspired, as well as some basic western-style stretching.  We have fun exploring movement while being reminded to use our breath as a tool to remain calm and focused throughout.

    Practice enhances a child’s flexibility, balance, and strength while building body awareness and coordination. Beyond the physical benefits, yoga promotes mindfulness and relaxation, helping children manage stress, improve focus, develop emotional resilience and foster a sense of inner peace. 

    Our program integrates yoga so that students are well prepped for the day, and understand they have built-in tools to cope, focus, relax, and to care for themselves.

    There is no religious component.
